Blogging today has become one of the most trending ways to a social life be it personal or professional. Here’s how it has emerged! In earlier days, blogging was restrained to written formats in diary entry styles by anyone, describing their day, journey or any experience as a matter of fact! Only individuals with a knack for writing had their own blog online. Then it shifted to becoming a knowledge sharing experience adding value and insight to readers. If you’re venturing into the world of blogging and need technical expertise, learn how to hire a WordPress developer to ensure a smooth and successful online presence.

Eventually, entrepreneurs, following their instinct to seek business opportunities, saw a certain potential of grabbing onto clientele through blogs. This is how blogs entered the line of business. They started providing valuable customer experiences, posing as the solution to their problems. Hence, business growth started streamlining through simple frequent updating of blogs on their website.

Not many blogging tools and platforms were available in the market those days. It was either Links.net, Xanga, LiveJournal or Blogger. Many other blogging platforms emerged and dissolved but the one that’s still doing great right from 2003 is WordPress and it has been evolving constantly to make not only blogging but all-in-all WordPress web development easier.

Now We Shall Look Into The Journey Of The Blog Veteran, WordPress!

The power of WordPress and its robust nature seems to be limitless right from its inception in 2003. The initial release was all about basic XHTML 1.1 compliant templates. WordPress 0.7 had a texturized engine, intelligent line breaks, an innovative admin interface, manual excerpts and default templates. Let’s dig into the evolution of the following versions for a better understanding of the evolution of WordPress.

After  0.7 , the version launched was WordPress 1.0. It added quite a bit of new stuff to the software including a functionality of browser installation, search engine friendly permalinks, multiple design and development categories, XFN support, quick upgrade process and import improvement from other hosts and systems. In the same year version 1.2 of WordPress was launched, it was the time when plugins support, hierarchically category support, OPML import and export, multiple update service pinging, automatic thumbnail creation and password encryption were introduced to the software.

It brought about rich editing, image upload, improved import system, faster posting, new back-end UI and several corrections to plugin professionals.

Many different versions were launched under 2.0 in the later years. New Widget Editor

As mentioned earlier about WordPress going block style, version 5.8 gets you a block-based widget editor too! Now you can just add widgets as blocks to your website sidebars and widget-supported areas. It also helps you make your widget areas highly immersive. For instance you can add buttons, colors, group blocks and much more. You can also apply traditional widgets by simply adding the ‘Legacy Widget’ block.

Modified Media Library

Thanks to WordPress 5.8 now there’s no need for limitless scrolling down. When you go to the media library you can simply click on ‘load more’ for more options of media. You can also copy your media file’s URL for direct upload, this reduces the efforts, right!

That was a bit to feast on for designers, now we shall look into how WordPress 5.8 is a helping hand for developers!

You just need to put in the code ‘useSetting’. Now, the best part about the theme .json! It auto creates CSS classes for presets of your WordPress 5.8 development and enqueues them. This enables the power of custom CSS properties for development . You can use this theme for the new template editor and the new layout options.

Extensive Site Health Interface

Good news! WordPress 5.8 allows developers to add or extend their own interface in the site health area at the core of your development portal. You can also register your tab and enable navigation in the site health header.
